Audi have announced that one of their most popular SUVs, the Q5, will now be available as a Sportback from early next year. The midsized SUV is adapting the Sportback aesthetic which will give you the chance to own a practical, family-friendly vehicle with the unique sports styling of a coupe.
With elegant sweeping shoulder lines that emphasise the wheels and a sloping roof silhouette. The Q5 Sportback really does suggest a sporting prowess when looking at the vehicle from any angle. Due to its clever design the Q5 Sportback, even with its sloping roofline, has the same amount of cabin space for passengers as its sister model. This has been achieved by adding length, making the Sportback 4.69 metres, which is longer than the Q5 but no taller or wider.
The new Q5 Sportback comes loaded with Audi’s latest technological solutions. Rear lights with digital OLED technology, which incorporate three organic light emitting diodes. Each of which include six segments than can be controlled individually and configured differently. Proximity warning lights means that all OLED segments will illuminate if another vehicle is within two metres of the car when parked. And a new dynamic coming-and-leaving lighting sequence to make sure you get to your destination as safely as possible.
The range will include TDI, TFSI, plug-in hybrid TFSI e and SQ5 variants.
The Sport, S line, Vorsprung and Edition One specification options will be available at launch in the UK. The digital cabin with touchscreen MMI, MMI navigation and Audi Virtual cockpit come as standard. The new Q5 Sportback’s rear lights have the new digital OLED technology for Vorsprung trims.
Performance is not lost on the new Q5 Sportback, with a 0 – 62mph time of 6.4 seconds and the option of a 204 PS 2.0 TDI quattro or a 265 PS 2.0 TFSI quattro engine.
