Vindis Group is delighted to announce that, with the successful completion and opening of its Volkswagen and ŠKODA Service Centre at Cambridge Research Park, we are now entering the final stage of the redevelopment project to create modern, specialist and dedicated sales facilities on Milton Road, bringing the best in automotive standards to Cambridge.
Vindis ŠKODA Cambridge
The first part of the plan is that the previous Bentley Cambridge building is about to undergo an extensive refurbishment programme to be transformed into a New and Approved Used ŠKODA retailer housing 20 vehicles, alongside facilities providing the latest in digital vehicle configuration and customer experience, alongside highlighting the roles of electric and hybrid vehicles in the city.
Completion will be in February 2018.
Vindis Volkswagen Cambridge
The current Volkswagen building on Milton Road has been demolished in order to construct a state-of-the-art Volkswagen retailer, providing the perfect platform for the brand to display its many exciting models that are coming to market over the next few years. The site will benefit substantially from the removal of service and maintenance facilities meaning that customer access into the site will be dramatically improved. In addition, the site will be providing electric charging facilities for both Volkswagen and ŠKODA drivers.
Expected completion for the Volkswagen site is August 2018.
Why this development is so important to delivering improved customer experiences
Our objective in these developments is to create businesses that offer customers a step-change in their experience with us. We believe that the environments that we are creating are innovative for the motor industry and designed to be welcoming and wholly customer-centric. This can be experienced at our Vindis Cambridge Service Centre, which has changed the nature of a customer’s service and maintenance interaction with us. The environment and surrounding areas are second-to-none, and shortly we will be offering one-hour servicing appointments over the duration of our extended hours, making our services more convenient and accessible suiting different customer requirements. We believe that the sales outlets need to reflect a similar approach providing improved customer access and parking and a more experiential showroom environment. We believe that our development plans will provide customers with an appropriate setting to enjoy their new car purchase.
During this period of refurbishment: Vindis ŠKODA Cambridge will continue to operate its sales facilities from its current Cowley Road location, whilst Vindis Volkswagen sales will be able to offer a number of options for customers at either Cowley Road in Cambridge, the Vindis Cambridge Service Centre in Waterbeach, or from Sawston Volkswagen, on Sawston High Street - the original home of the Vindis Group.
All vehicles that are sold by the Vindis Group are subject to an administrative / preparation fee of £90 inc VAT. For new vehicles this charge covers the cost of mechanically preparing the vehicle for delivery, the administration of new ownership documentation and final preparation for customer handover.
For used vehicles, this charge covers a full history and provenance check prior to being advertised for sale ensuring no financial risk or charge has been levied against the vehicle, that the vehicle has never been written off or stolen and final preparation for customer handover.
