This year’s Auto Trader awards brought a trio of wins for our brands, with over 43,000 car owners voting for their favourite.
The ŠKODA Octavia was crowned New Car of the Year, beating rivals from BMW and Peugeot, with owners rating it as being durable, reliable and hugely spacious.
Auto Trader’s Ivan Aistrop, commented: “The Octavia offers an incredibly appealing mix of practicality, quality and affordability, and it’s also good to drive, well-equipped, and full of clever features to make everyday life easier. As all-rounders go, they don’t get much better than this.”
Not to be outdone, the ŠKODA Superb took the award for Best Family Car, with owners appreciating its impressive quality, exceptional value for money, well-equipped interior and reliability. The Superb is a beautiful car to drive, so we can’t blame its owners for being so enthusiastic!
Heading over to Volkswagen, we were pleased to see the Passat GTE Estate taking home the title of Best Green Car. The award, decided by the Auto Trader experts, considers anything with CO2 emissions of 50g/km or less. With a growing popularity in electric and hybrid vehicles it was a tough win but the Passat GTE outshined its competition. Ivan Aistrop said: “The Passat GTE is a really compelling solution to eco-friendly motoring. Its plug-in hybrid technology gives the car sensational efficiency figures, and when you need more than its 30-mile electric-only range, it still has you covered, with no range anxiety.”
