SEAT’s CUPRA brand has, until now, been a symbol of the brand’s interest in high-performance, motorsport-influenced vehicles and has seen the arrival of a number of popular ‘hot-hatch’ models such as the Ibiza CUPRA and Leon CUPRA, (currently available as the Leon CUPRA 300.)
Looking to build on their range, and dedicate themselves fully to creating the most exciting and stylish performance models, SEAT announced the introduction of CUPRA as a brand in its own right.
CUPRA vehicles will arrive with a new logo, moving away from the previous chequered flag design that has adorned the CUPRA brand since its arrival in the mid 1990’s, and will offer stylish copper accents on the badging, alloy wheels and interior stitching, in addition to a more aggressive overall look.
Launched at a special event at the Terramar Circuit in Catalonia, the first CUPRA model was introduced; the CUPRA Ateca. With gloss black roof rails and wing mirrors, tinted rear windows, sports or bucket seats, a redesigned front grille, black brake callipers and no less than four exhaust pipes, the Ateca looks set to become a popular choice for families who need the space of an SUV but refuse to compromise on driving performance. With a 2 litre 300-horsepower TSI engine, 400Nm of torque and permanent all wheel drive the new CUPRA Ateca will certainly live up to expectations and we can’t wait for it to arrive and join us here in the UK.
Unfortunately, we have no details yet on a release date but will keep you updated as soon as further information is released. We would also expect further announcements on a CUPRA Ibiza and CUPRA Arona in the coming months. CUPRA’s dedicated website, with further details, can be found at www.cupraofficial.com.
In the meantime, the brilliant SEAT Leon CUPRA 300 is available to order at Milton Keynes SEAT so should you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
