This time last year, when choosing an SUV, ŠKODA’s only offering came in the form of the Yeti. Although hugely practical, and certainly popular as our customers can testify, the rise in the popularity of SUVs amongst families has prompted ŠKODA to expand the range to offer a further choice in the compact SUV market.
And so, we welcomed the Kodiaq, released towards the end of 2016, to fill the gap in the range for a large SUV, capable of both on and off-roading comfortably with up to seven passengers. With the huge success of this vehicle, we’re happy to report that the brand has upped its SUV game with the addition of the brand new Karoq and we just can’t wait for it to arrive!
The new Karoq takes its name the from the language of the indigenous people of Alaska, a combination of the words ‘KAA’RAQ’ meaning car and ‘’RUQ’ meaning arrow, (to represent the key feature of the ŠKODA logo.) The vehicle will premiere for the first time on May 18th in Stockholm, Sweden and will officially launch in the second half of this year.
The Karoq is slightly larger than the current Yeti, and joins the range as a more compact version of the Kodiaq, which has clearly been an important influence in the design of this new model. An impressive amount of space inside is complimented by up to 1,820 litres of space with the rear seats down.
A range of petrol and diesel engines will be available, but we will update you with full details and specification after its exciting premiere.
