Motability with Vindis

What is Motability?

The Motability scheme helps people get mobile by exchanging some or all of their allowance to lease a brand-new vehicle, over 3 or 5 years.

Leasing a car on the Motability scheme is an easy process, and one we can help you with at every step. At the Vindis Group we’ve got a wide range of Motability vehicles available across the Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and ŠKODA ranges. We are authorised Motability providers, meaning we’ve got the knowledge and resources to help you into a new car.

If you are unsure about the scheme, or would like to speak to one of our specially trained experts, please contact your local Vindis dealership HERE to find out more. We’re a friendly bunch, and our Motability experts are here to help so give us a call to get started!

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for a vehicle on the Motability scheme, you must have at least 12 months’ award remaining on one of the following allowances:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
  • Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
  • War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)

Alternatively, if you are the parent or guardian of a child in receipt of the HRMC DLA, and are responsible for the allowance, applications can be made in your name.

Only one Motability vehicle can be leased per applicant in receipt of an allowance. If two or more people in a household each receive an allowance independently, each person is eligible for a vehicle. There is no limit to the number of Motability vehicles per household.

  • Up to 60,000 miles of driving over a three-year ownership period.

What does my allowance not cover?

  • You are responsible for all consumables, like fuel and screen wash.
  • Any optional extras not fitted as standard to the vehicle will incur an additional charge.
  • We hope you have fun in your new vehicle, but do remember that parking and speeding fines are your responsibility too.
  • Whilst insurance is part of the package, you are liable for the excess if a claim is made, and personal belongings in the vehicle are left at your own risk.
  • Should you require specific adaptations to your vehicle there may be a cost, so do check with our Motability specialists.

Grants and Young Drivers

In addition to the Motability scheme, you can apply for a number of grants to help you further, including grants for vehicle adaptations, wheelchair accessible vehicles and even for driving lessons. There’s lots of help out there, and you can find out more on the Motability website HERE or get in touch with us directly.

It is worth noting that there are certain restrictions for young drivers; only one named driver under 21 is permitted on the insurance, and drivers under 25 are limited to a maximum of 120 horsepower.
