Audi’s smallest offering, the fantastic little A1, has had a complete makeover and the new model, due towards the end of the Summer, has been completely redesigned from the ground up.
The premium hatchback is already the perfect car for zipping around town, heading off to the shops, or helping you relax on your daily commute. Now, the latest generation of this model promises big car technology and luxury, in a compact, easy to live with model.
An increase of 56mm brings the new A1 to just over 4 metres in length. With a low stance on the road, at just 1.41m high, the A1 retains its sporty feel.
The new design incorporates elements from the 1980’s Ur quattro seamlessly mixing the charm of the old with the beauty of the new. Agile handling means the new A1 offers an exciting driving experience, on top of fun engines outputting between 116 and 200 PS. Shortly after launch a 95PS, 25 TFSI engine will follow.
Inside, a high resolution digital instrument cluster blends with the 10.25-inch screen for a sleek, uncluttered view. The latest generation of voice control and driver assistance systems such as pre-sense, lane assist and parking systems make the A1 a tempting option for longer distance drivers too. High levels of spec are available, even in the opening SE model which provides the driver with touchscreen displays and a multifunction steering wheel. The optional Audi Virtual Cockpit is available as a stunning addition and puts important information, and navigation if available, right in front of the driver.
Mimicking the current line-up, the new A1 will feature SE, Sport and S line trims, with the S line offering the most powerful engine choice. Twin tailpipes also adorn the rear of the S line for a sporty look.
The new A1 will be available in a choice of 10 colours which can be combined with a contrasting roof. For further personalisation, the wing mirrors and side sills can be customised in this contrast colour too.
Two Launch Edition models will be available upon the vehicle’s first arrival to the UK which build upon the extensive spec of the S line and add a choice of white, black or bronze wheels, darkened LED lights, exclusive black Audi rings and a range of styling packages.
Inside the cabin you’ll notice how much more spacious the new A1 is, improving comfort not only in the front but also in the back. Luggage capacity has increased by a huge 65 litres, bringing the space up to a total of 335 litres, or 1090 litres with the rear seats folded down.
The new Audi A1 is available for order this September, with first deliveries expected in November. Get in touch to find out more, today.
