New Audi S3 Opens for Order

The all-new Audi S3 Sportback and S3 Saloon opens for order on Thursday 12 August 2020 at Vindis Audi Centres.

Engine and Speed

With the new model capable of 0-62mph in sub-five-seconds from its 2.0 TFSI engine that produces 310PS and a max speed of 155mph, the brand new S3 certainly lives up to the high expectations set by its predecessor. This power is linked to a seven-speed S tronic which allows for lightning-fast gear shifts and economy-conscious freewheeling function. Yet it can also show restraint, returning up to 39.2 mpg in WLTP test conditions, with a reduced CO2 output of as little as 178 g/km.

The redesigned front of the car is based around the singleframe with its large rhombus-patterned grille. LED headlights come as standard with the option of upgraded Matrix LED units in the S3 Vorsprung models due later this year. The front also comes with a pronounced shoulder line which extends from the headlights to the taillights.

A new element of Audi design places strong emphasis on the wheel arches. Aluminium door mirror surrounds clearly define the S Series model about the standard A3 variants.

As with most performance Audi models, the signature rear has a large diffuser and the trademark four exhaust tailpipes, to ensure the S3 makes an impressive exit.

Size and space

It has been lowered by 15 millimetres and is equipped with a four-link rear axle, which complements its progressive steering. The standard S-specification suspension is a great all-rounder and it also provides the foundations for the S suspension with damper control which is a standard feature of S3 Vorsprung models.

Compared with their predecessors, the new S3 Sportback and S3 Saloon are three centimetres and four centimetres longer respectively, while both models are three centimetres wider. They share the same 2,640-millimetre wheelbase, which affords greater shoulder room and elbow room than the outgoing models, and provides for 370 litres of luggage space in the Saloon and 325 and 1,145 litres of luggage space in the Sportback depending on the position of the rear bench seat.

The interior of the new S3 keeps in line with the nearly developed look that in keeps with the Audi design language. Newly developed sport seats finished in Fine Nappa leather fits precisely with the driver-oriented dashboards to give you a greater driving experience.  The new fully integrated MMI operating concept has a 10.1-inch black panel touch-screen display which becomes the centrepiece of the state-of-the-art cabin.

All S3 models leave the factory with an armoury of assistance systems that demonstrate Audi’s technical expertise. Audi pre sense front, swerve assist with turn assist and lane departure warning all have the potential to prevent accidents and are included as standard. S3 Vorsprung models expand on this list with features such as lane change and exit warnings, the rear cross-traffic and park assist systems and adaptive cruise assist, which maintains the speed and distance to the vehicle in front and assists with lane guidance by means of gentle interventions in the steering.

The new S3 Sportback will be available from £37,900 and the S3 Saloon from £38,465 with expected first deliveries in autumn.
