New features for updated Volkswagen Passat

A new, facelifted Volkswagen Passat was officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and shows off a range of new features for an exciting driving experience.

The new Passat will feature Travel Assist for the first time, an innovative system offering semi-automated driving at cruising speeds. Working alongside a other safety features, and constantly analysing the road ahead for speed limited, corners and junctions, Travel Assist can operate at speeds of up to 130mph.

Emergency Steering Assist will feature alongside this, offering further safety by allowing the use of evasive steering manoeuvres through braking.

Taking inspiration from the latest Volkswagen Touareg, IQ.Light will be available on the new Passat and offers LED matrix headlights for an exceptional view at night. Making night-driving safer, and more comfortable, the headlights feature over 120 LEDs that are individually controlled and can offer near zone illumination and signal functions in addition to main beam and dipped settings.

Under the bonnet the engine range has been updated too, with the GTE hybrid line offering 34 miles of pure electric driving, an increase of 12 miles over the outgoing model. Traditional fuel options are also improved with petrol offerings from 148PS to 268PS and diesel offerings between 118PS and 237PS.
