The new SEAT Arona

Revealed to crowds at Barcelona’s sun-drenched beaches, the latest addition to the SEAT SUV line-up was admired for the first time, 300 metres above sea level. Not your usual car reveal, we’ll agree, but with a number of SEAT unveils already this year, this brand-new model was destined for something special. Hanging from a helicopter, the new Arona came as a surprise to beach-goers and served as a teaser for the exclusive, journalist-only event that followed yesterday evening. The car itself will be officially revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and should be arriving at Vindis Milton Keynes SEAT by the end of the year.

So, what do we already know about this brand-new model? The Arona sits below the larger Ateca in the current range, and is the brand’s first entry into the compact crossover segment. An even larger SUV is set to arrive in 2018. With some of SEAT’s most advanced technology and safety features, we are all very excited for the Arona to arrive with us.

Perfect for everyday driving, due to its compact size and high levels of safety, the Arona still offers the versatility of an SUV with space for the family and the luggage on your next adventure. Driving assistance and infotainment systems include Front Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Hill Hold Control, Automatic lights and wipers, Multi-collision braking and Keyless Entry and Start System, to name a few!

The new model will follow suit with the Ibiza, Leon and Ateca, and will be available in Reference, Style, FR and Excellence trims.

“We wanted to give the new SEAT Arona the distinct feel of a crossover, a sturdy car for everyday life, for the urban jungle. That’s why it features such strong protection in the bumpers, the wheel arches and the dark coloured rubber side skirts, as well as the roof rack and the aluminium look-like protection at the bottom of the bumpers” commented Alejandro Mesonero, SEAT’s Design Director.

All engines available in the new Arona have a turbocompressor, direct injection and an automatic start stop system. Three petrol engines, (a three-cylinder 95PS and 115PS, and a four-cylinder, 150PS), and two diesel engines, (a 95PS and 115PS 1.6TDI) will be offered.

If you would like to stay updated on the brand-new SEAT Arona, why not pop into Vindis Milton Keynes SEAT, on Northfield Drive or give the team a call on 01908 351199. We look forward to hearing from you.
