The ŠKODA Scala has been announced as the very latest model to join the line-up. The Scala’s name derives from the Latin word ‘scala’ which means stairs, and represents a step forward in the brand’s compact hatch offerings, and in their development in technology and design.
The new five-door Scala will become the first model to replace the rear logo with the model name across the tailgate. Building on the VISION RS concept car that was revealed at the Paris Motor Show, the Scala will offer new technologies, innovations and safety features currently found in more premium models, making it a beautifully understated, no-compromise compact model.
To begin, optional full LED headlights and tail lights are available to grace the exterior and it is the first ŠKODA to come with rear dynamic indicators. Inside, the cabin is surprisingly spacious for its size, with plenty of room for passengers and luggage, with a 467-litre boot compartment.
Virtual Cockpit will be available to add onto your new Scala and brings a 10.25 inch, fully configurable, high resolution display.
A choice of three engines will be available, ranging from 90PS to 150PS, each with direct injection, a turbocharger, Start Stop technology and brake energy recovery. Petrol or diesel can be chosen, as well as the choice of a manual or automatic or in the two most powerful engines.
ŠKODA’s Chairman of the Board, Bernhard Maier said, “With the new ŠKODA Scala we are proposing a new chapter in the compact class of ŠKODA. It is a completely new development that sets standards in terms of technology, safety and design in this class.”
This model will be an exciting new addition to our showrooms and we look forward to keeping you updated as and when new information becomes available. The Scala is expected to be revealed to the public in the first half of next year.
