It’s the moment that Volkswagen fans have been waiting for, and we’re pleased to announce the arrival of the brand new, eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf.
Unveiled at the official world premiere, the Golf features a redesigned exterior, showing off a wider profile and new LED headlights. Inside there’s a wealth of new technology, that extends to the engines too, to make driving the new Golf an exciting prospect.
There’s a big focus on all things digital in the new Golf, with most of the displays and controls now digitised, meaning they are sleek and easy to use throughout the cabin. Touch sliders and buttons make them easy to use whilst driving, and there’s an optional head-up display should you wish to see driving information visible in your eyeline. The model also sits lower to the ground for a heightened driving experience and responsive performance. It also arrives as the first Volkswagen to feature Car2X as standard, which increases communication with the road and its users. Traffic signals and other vehicle information are displayed to the driver via the new display, whilst the Golf also shares these signals with other Car2X vehicles.
Drivers can choose from petrol, diesel and natural gas, meaning there’s an efficient model for every family. The petrol engines offer 90PS and 110PS, or there’s 115PS and 150PS available from the diesel engines. Both diesel engines offer innovative new technology to reduce NO2 emissions by up to 80%. The TGI natural gas engine offers an output of 130PS. If it’s hybrid technology you’re searching for, then you’re in luck with the new Golf; five hybrid drive versions will be available, three eTSI engines, a plug-in hybrid and a sporty GTE.
