Volkswagen have revealed their brand new Touareg in Beijing and are set to prove their place in the premium SUV world.
More stylish and practical than ever before, and with cutting-edge technology, the new Touareg premieres the Innovision Cockpit. This merges the brand’s fully digitalised instrument cluster in its 12-inch display with the top of the range Discover Premium infotainment system’s 15-inch display. This digital cockpit allows the driver to control almost every setting without the need for cluttered buttons and switches and it can be easily personalised to suit each driver.
The new Touareg will also arrive with the option to add the largest range of driver assistances to date, including Night Vision assistance system, Roadwork Lane Assist, Front Cross Traffic Assist and active all-wheel steering.
The new SUV is both wider and longer over the outgoing model, making the interior feel far more spacious for both front and rear passengers. Despite this small size increase a clever mix of the latest construction materials mean a 106kg weight saving.
In the UK we will initially receive two V6 diesel engines offering 231 or 286PS. A V6 petrol engine is set to follow in due course, with 340PS and a V8 turbodiesel with a huge 421PS. Although not all markets will receive these engines we hope to receive further information on the new engine range very soon, so do let our Sales teams know if you would like to be kept updated. A plug-in hybrid model is currently on its way to the Chinese market and again we hope to receive this version in the near future on the UK market.
