CUPRA have revealed their new concept electric car at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2019. The Concept marries the presence of an SUV with the sleek styling of a sports coupe.

Powered by two electric motors – the Tavascan is equipped with a 77kWh battery pack for an all-electric range of up to 450km.

The Cupra Tavascan mixes performance and efficiency, in a way we haven’t seen the brand do before. The Cupra logo has been designed to sit low on the vehicle and illuminated, providing a completely different focal point.

The Cupra concept includes incredible air flow as a critical component. Its muscular wheel arches house 22-inch turbine alloy wheels, which focus on shifting the air cleanly to allow the coupe SUV to glide and minimise resistance. Each vent is designed to allow the air to flow smoothly over the body, or to internally cool the battery pack.

The Tavascans sculptured exterior lines are equally mirror with the interior. Mixing material and technological concepts with openness and focus to create a cabin that provide the needed balance between driver orientation and passenger comfort.

Applying all of our favourite contrast colours, structural carbon and dynamic approaches to technology and design, providing a high-end, lightweight cabin.

Behind the steering wheel, the driver is at the forefront of control, with a 12.3” digital instrument providing all the information needed, supplemented by a 13” infotainment display.

Two motors – one on the front axle, the second at the rear – providing a combined 306PS of power to all four wheels.

The New Cupra Tavascan Electric concept can reach 100km/h in less than 6.5 seconds.

Due to the concept’s battery pack being housed at the floor of the car, the centre of gravity is low, making driving this car incredibly dynamic.
