Volkswagen Grand California set for February debut

Back in July we wrote about the exciting news that a brand-new campervan was set to join the commercial vehicle range, which built on the California XXL concept.
We’re pleased to announce the new, long-awaited Volkswagen Grand California will be making its UK debut at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show, which will be taking place between 19-24 February at the NEC in Birmingham. We are expecting to see this campervan available in the UK for sale in mid-2019, but will of course keep you updated as to its arrival.
This new Grand California is based on the Crafter van, as opposed to the current, standard California which is based on the Transporter. The California celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2018 which makes it the perfect time to build on the range with this larger model.
The Grand California truly is a home from home, and offers all the luxuries you’d expect to find, meaning you’ll stay warm and comfortable no matter where your adventure takes you.
Inside the Grand California the space opens up into a light and airy living area where an optional panoramic skylight enhances the look further. Sleeping space is available for up to two adults and two children, and a functional bathroom, with 110 litre water tank, includes a toilet, fold out sink and shower, with plenty of storage available to keep clutter at bay. Bluetooth speakers in the living area mean you’ll never get bored and further storage for camping tables and chairs add to the clever features concealed within this van.
Of course, what would a home from home be without all those added features to make your campervan your own. Opt for an additional air conditioning unit for those warm summer road trips, or perhaps an awning keeping the evening sun off your back.
With safety being a top priority, you’ll benefit from a huge range of assistance systems including Front Assist with City Emergency Braking, Lane Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring Rear Traffic Alert, Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and a Rear View reversing camera.
